Q. How Do I Stop Receiving Emails and Edit My Email Settings?

Q. How Do I Deactivate My Account?
A. If you are a trial member or paid user and would like to deactivate your account, you can do that from your profile page. Please go to your profile page and select Edit Profile.   In your edit profile settings, you will find a deactivate button.   Click on that button to deactivate your account.   If you want to leave your account active, but stop receiving emails, you can edit your profile and turn off email notifications.

If you are a Paid Monthly Subscriber and you want to turn off the recurring billing please see the FAQ about Monthly Recurring Billing.

Q. Can I reset my statistics?
A. Your statistics are located on the Skill Data page.  You can not reset your account with Grockit. Many people ask about resetting their account because they want to clear out their performance analytics and start over. You can use the customized data range in your profile analytics to see the report on the specific time frame you want to view. (we suggest doing this)

Q. What does my percentile mean?
A. You will receive a percentile score upon completing each Diagnostic and Challenge in Grockit. This score indicates the percentage of Grockit users that you have scored above in that section of the exam. For example, if you scored in the 80% percentile on your SAT Math Diagnostic, this means that you outscored 4 out of 5 fellow Grockit users in SAT Math.  You can find this on your skill data page under achievements.

Q. Does Grockit provide a score prediction?
A. Diagnostics and challenges provide  Grockit percentile rankings that may be correlated to section-specific score ranges on the actual exam. GMAT & GRE students receive score predictions after completing each full-length CAT exam.  As more users take diagnostics, challenges  or CATs, our score prediction becomes more accurate.   Our prediction is based on a similar algorithm to the one used on the GMAT, which is based on the number of questions of a certain difficulty answered correctly.   You can find this on your skill data page.

Q. What Time Zone are Grockit times listed in?
A. The time you see listed for Grockit games, in emails, and with videos are set to the time zone you select in your profile.  To verify or change your time zone, go to “Edit Profile.”

Technology Requirements

Q. My Connection Is Slow and the Game Isn’t Working Correctly, Why?
A. Grockit requires an internet connection with broadband speeds.  We recommend a minimum of 3 mbps while using our game platform and a minimum of 5 mbps for streaming our video content.   Some users outside of the US have experienced a slow connection due to their internet speeds.  Additionally, users who use public internet services (Library, Cafe, Internet Cafe) have experienced issues.  We recommend signing up for our 3 day free trial before making your purchase to verify that your network speed is compliant.

Q. What Browser Should I Use With Grockit?
A. Grockit works with the newest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer.  However, many older browsers are no longer compliant with Grockit.   We recommend using the newest versions of Chrome or Firefox for the best result with Grockit.  If Grockit is not properly working for you, we urge you to try a different browser to see if that resolves the issue.  If you continue to have the same problem in multiple browsers, you can visit getsastisfaction.com/grockit and tell us about your problem or write us directly at getsatisfaction@grockit.com.

Game Features

Q. How do I start my study plan?
A. We’ve divided our curriculum into comprehensive clusters of material that target specific groups of skills. By targeting one cluster at a time, you learn the best strategies for each type of question and identify your strengths and weaknesses in each area of the exam.  For each completed study task, you’ll receive a bronze, silver or gold medal that indicates your performance. If you are unsatisfied with your performance, we suggest you review the questions you’ve answered and restart the task to improve your score.  When your performance improves, you will be awarded the next trophy, indicating your progress.   To start your Study Plan, click Study Plan at the top of the Grockit Dashboard. We suggest you start with Study Plan and the Diagnostics before customizing your practice and targeting your skills.

Q. How do I customize my practice or target specific skills?
A. You may “create your own” custom game with any section, difficulty or skill combination you like.  Under the practice tab, you can join Live Practice Sessions or select “Create Game” which allows you to customize a group or solo game.  You can customize your practice by selecting: section, difficulty, skills, session time and number of players.

Q. What is a game?
A. Grockit’s allows you to play “games” in one of two ways: solo player or multi-player mode.  The best way to start a game is by selecting one of the options on your practice tab.  We refer to this mode of practice as a “game”, because of the gaming mechanics that are built in to the experience.  Some of these include: XP, GP, Leveling Up and Achievement Badges.

Q. What is a challenge?
A. Think of Challenges like homework. Challenges are periodically loaded into a student’s study plan as a practice exercise in a given section. Challenges provide students with 10-12 questions that are generally more difficult than a student’s estimated ability level, and each successive question adapts based on the cumulative performance on the previously answered ones.

Q. What is a Diagnostic?
A. Diagnostics are intended to be used by students to get a baseline assessment of their performance in a certain section of the exam. Diagnostics should be taken early on in a student’s study plan, and also inform Grockit’s algorithm of the best questions to serve up moving forward. Diagnostics are 12-15 ‘adaptive’ questions; each successive question in a given diagnostic is determined by the cumulative performance on the previously answered ones.   You will find the Diagnostics listed under the “test yourself” section on the Practice page or in your Study Plan.

Q. How do I invite others to a game?
A. Q. Do you have Full Length Tests?
Grockit does not provide full length tests for our SAT, ACT, LSAT, IIM-CAT, AP History, AP Calculus AB test prep products.
Instead, we provide you our customers with an extensive question bank with varying difficulties.

Every Grockit GMAT or GRE Member who purchased a Premium Membership, a Tutoring Package, or a Video/Premium Bundle course (Video/Premium Bundle Courses are not available for GRE at this time)  will have access to 5 CATs, complete with a GMAT score projection based on your performance.

Grockit models its CAT on the official GMAC(R) literature and its score projections on the collected item response data from all Grockit users and score-reporting graduates. We recommend that you complete CATs periodically throughout the course of your studies leading up to your test date to get experience with a Computer Adaptive Test and to give you feedback on your performance and progress over time. In conjunction with Diagnostics (abbreviated CATs of 10 to 12 questions), Challenges, and an extensive library of practice questions, students on Grockit have access to the most comprehensive, personal platform for GMAT prep. Full-length GMAT CATs now appear in the “Solo Practice” section for Grockit Premium Members.
